Hi, I’m Sher Elliott and I am the School Counselor here at Plain City Elementary! This is my 17th year as an educator, and my 6th year here, as a counselor at Plain City. Before coming here, I was a 5th grade teacher at Kanesville, a 6th grade teacher at Plain City, and I’ve worked as the counselor at Kanesville, West Weber and Lomond View Elementary Schools. I LOVE being at Plain City; it's so fun to see so many familiar faces! I teach classroom social and emotional lessons to each grade, and I also work with small groups and kids individually. I am married to Scott and we have 2 sons, a daughter, and one daughter-in-law. Jake & Marissa, Brock and Jamie. Please feel free to reach out to me for any help!

Miss Garner - Counseling Intern

Hi! I’m Teah Garner, your Counseling Intern. I’m so excited to be at Plain City Elementary. I am also learning so much from the amazing students and staff here. My favorite part of my days are when I get to learn something new from or about the students. I am enjoying going into the K-6 classrooms and teaching the Second Step Program and participating in Groups. Both of which promote social-emotional learning. As for me, I love laughing and having fun (which makes Mrs. Elliott the perfect mentor for me). I am passionate about being a School Counselor, and I am loving every minute of being an Intern.

I hope you’re safe, happy and well! I hope you enjoy the attached video about families, as friends. I want to encourage you to get along with and be kind to your families - whatever your situation may be.

Some of you have siblings, and some of you don’t. Some of you live with cousins or other family members. Some of you live with moms and/or dads, and others live with grandparents or other guardians.

Whoever you live with is your awesome family. I would like to encourage you to spend positive time with them so you can still enjoy fun, healthy relationships - even while you don’t have as much interaction with your school friends during this time. Treat your family like your friends. It will help you to be happy!

I’d also like to share a fantastic mental health resource with you, in case you are encountering emotional struggles. Weber School District has amazing Mental Health Specialists who are ready and willing to help. There is no cost for this service.

If you would like to refer your child for assistance, contact Zach Leifson at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Keeping a schedule can help students with hard situations.  Feel free to use one of these examples, or better yet have your children help you make the schedule for your family.

Hi All! I am missing your beautiful faces! I just want you to know I am thinking about you, and I’m hoping in my heart that you are staying healthy and super happy! Enjoy this gift of time at home, and use it to create bonds and memories with your families! There is nothing better for the human heart than strengthening your relationships with those you love. I will be sending you my love through little videos and messages every week. If you need anything, or if you just need to express how you’re thinking or feeling, or if you just want to share with me the creative things you’re doing at home, feel free to email me! I would love to hear from you! Have a fabulously creative and peaceful week!
