Funding Summary 2016-2017
Plain City students will achieve a 1% increase in the number of students reaching the reading benchmark from the beginning of the 2016-17 school year to end of the 2016-17 school year.
Students will take the DIBELS test at the beginning and end of the school year. The composite score results will be compared to determine the amount of growth for the year.
Reading Action Plan
All students will be tested at the beginning of the school year using the DIBELS assessment.
Our Reading Specialist and Reading Aides will work with students who are well below grade level.
Teachers will work with all students using leveled readers, district materials, informational text, and student planners.
Professional development, Professional Learning Communities, and Child Study meetings will be scheduled for the purpose of unpacking standards, training teachers on reading strategies, sharing interventions strategies and creating higher level thinking lessons and assessments.
Plain City students, in grades 3rd- 6th, will see an overall 1% increase in their SAGE math proficiency scores from the end of the 2015-16 school year to the end of the 2016-17 school year.
Students will take the end-of-level SAGE assessment as mandated by the state. The 2016-17 math results will be compared to prior year’s SAGE results to determine the amount of growth for the year.

Teachers will work with all students using district materials, manipulatives, administering common assessments and incorporating technology.
