Minutes for Community Council Committee

Meeting began at 11:52 am

Welcome by Committee Chair Rebecca Cannon.

All members need to view Trustland videos accessed through www.schoollandtrust.org.

Mr. Karlinsey mentioned new legislation affecting trust plans. New fund amounts should increase based upon changes made to investment strategies.

He also went over school compliance.

Meeting schedule for 2017-2018 school year:
December 4, February 5, April 9 all at 11:45 A.M.

Minutes (draft minutes from previous meetings) and agenda need to be posted on school’s website at least one week prior to the meeting. Need to include voting processes (including names of for/against) in minutes for meeting along with attendance/absences.

Budget Review:
Six projectors were purchased at end of 2016-2017 school year. All projectors due to fail soon at the same time. Because of this and payment of school aides, brought total carryover balance to $1755.

This year’s budget is approximately $73,000

Reading:
Salaries: $38,000
Printing and admissions: $8,000
General Supplies: $5,000
Repairs: $1,500
Employment: $17,000

Math:
$4,500

Mr. Karlinsey reviewed numbers of student’s percentages who were proficient from last year in Language Arts and Math. Compared Plain City Elementary numbers to district and state for grades 3rd-6th. PCE percentages were well above other averages.

Rebecca mentioned there are no lines on walking path north of school.
