Minutes for Community Council Meeting

February 3, 2020

In attendance:

  • Heather Neilson
  • Rebecca Cannon
  • Angie Fisher
  • Alayna Weston

The meeting started at 11:00 a.m.

Minutes from last meeting approval by Angie Fisher.

2020-2021 Trust Plan draft was handed out and reviewed.  The estimated funds are $87,432.  Our school plan is needed for an initial review by the school district.

Mrs. Neilson mentioned early DIBELS scores a little lower but the test was taken a month earlier than last year.  This was done to identify and get help for those who are struggling.

The payment for the lease of the chrome books and aide salaries will take care of the remaining amount allotted for spending in the current year plan.

TSA funds will be used for iXL and for Maria Nielsen to come June 1st for PLC training.

We reviewed the school safety plan.  Mrs. Neilson is waiting to hear back from the canal company about open water on 2200 N.  School key cards given out to employees with access to five locked doors around the school.  The front door will still remain open during the school day.

Mrs. Neilson passed out a "Leader In Me" cost calculator.  The total cost for 3 years is around $55,000 which the council agreed was too high for our current budget.  The sixth-grade dance was changed this year to line dancing because they are not using dance cards.  Dance might be changed to etiquette dinner or something else in the coming years.

The next meeting will be on March 2, 2020, at 11:00.  This will be our last meeting for the year.

Meeting adjourned at 11:40 am.
