Minutes for Community Council Meeting
January 11, 2021
In attendance:
- Heather Neilson
- Kadee Skeem
- Rebecca Cannon
- Angie Fisher
- Melissa Dunn
The meeting started at 11:00 a.m.
Prior meeting minutes read and approved by Melissa. Seconded by Rebecca.
- Virtual Presentation on digital citizenship by Lynn Raymond from the school district. The chrome books used by the students have redundant (dual) filtering and are 99% accurate. They are filtered by grade level.
- Heather went through the compliant checklist and we are compliant. The final report deadline for next year has been postponed for six weeks.
- For the budget and plan review, we have spent $14,000 in aide salaries and approximately $20,000 for chrome books. We have also funded librarian and child study substitution time. The four reading paraprofessionals spending five minutes one to one seems to be working great so we will continue that. We are already seeing progress toward our Reading goal. The Math data will come from the RISE test at the end of the year.
- For the school safety plan, Heather mentioned that the school doors are now all on key cards. Mask to mask exposure no longer requires quarantining but exposure at lunch still does.
- Sixth grade is having lunch instead of a dance. No Valentine’s can be brought from home. But the students will still have ‘party in a box’.
- Possibly doing the Book Fair and PTC virtually.
- For next year’s plan looking at doing the same goals.
The meeting adjourned at 11:33 am
