Minutes for Community Council Meeting

November 9, 2020

The meeting started at 11:00 a.m.

Minutes from the last meeting read by Angie.  Rebecca approved and Alayna seconded. 

 

Heather informed the council that we are completely compliant (including the website).  Final report for next year’s plan due sometime between January 15 and February 5, 2021. 

 

For the plan review, we have four reading paraprofessionals and we have provided substitutes for the librarian when she is out. 

 

Heather also reviewed the school safety plan.  The canal on 2200 North might possibly be covered to provide safe passage. Two more school doors will be added to the key card readers. 

 

For the budget review, approximately $12,000 has been removed for the salaries of the reading and PLC aides.  We have not been billed for the Chromebook charges of around $22,000.

 

Covid-19 updates include continually reminding students about covid policies including no team play at recess.  Recreational use of the gym has been suspended for two weeks per Governor Herbert’s mandate. We still have no parent volunteers. If a student is exposed at school they can be tested after day 8 and return to school with a negative result if both students were wearing masks at the time of exposure.  

Also because of Covid policies, there will be no First Thanksgiving celebrations this year as a school.  Hopefully, teachers will include activities in their individual lessons.
