I have been teaching for almost 28 years and I have taught 6th grade for the majority of those years. Most of my career was spent at Kanesville Elementary, but I have been at Plain City for the last 6 years. I love it here! I graduated with my bachelors degree from Weber State University a long time ago, but I recently got my masters degree from Western Governors. I enjoy teaching students each day and my favorite subject to teach is math.

I have three amazing children who are all adults. I love spending time with them. I also enjoy playing pickleball, going to the movies, hiking, playing games and doing puzzles. Some of my favorite things to eat are pasta, sushi, and popcorn with hot tamales. I am grateful for my career as a teacher and excited to finish it out at Plain City Elementary.

Educational Experience: I have had many different jobs while working for Weber School District.  I started off as an aide at Club Heights Elementary where I was aide for math, reading, ELL, PE, and SPED.  I pursued my teaching degree at Weber State University where I then continued on to earn a master's degree.  I spent several years teaching 5th and 6th grade at Freedom Elementary before I started teaching 6th grade here at Plain City.

Hobbies: After school I'm always pursuing one of my passions.  I started playing the guitar when I was a teenager and still play as much as I can today.  I love everything about the guitar.  I'm also a motorcycle enthusiast.  Riding dirt bikes is my favorite thing to do.  I  love to build and customize my own motorcycles.  I'm happiest when I'm on two wheels!  I also have a daughter who is my pride and joy.  She means the world to me!

Mrs. Skeem enjoys doing 4-H with her family.

I have taught 6th grade for over 15 years at Plain City Elementary.  I myself attended Plain City Elementary so I am a Plain City Panther through and through! I earned my Bachelor's degree from Dixie State College and then continued my education at Utah State University, where I obtained my Master's degree. I enjoy teaching all subject areas, but I am especially passionate about math. I strive to help students build confidence in their mathematical abilities that will help them be successful as they continue on to Jr. High.

When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 kids.  Most of our time is spent in the barn.  We have a dog, steers, lambs, goats, pigs, and our newest addition, a donkey.  If we are not in the barn we are most likely in a gym for a wrestling tournament. I love supporting my kids and watching them work hard at the things they love.
