I earned my Bachelor's degree from Weber State and a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Utah State University. I began my teaching career at Roosevelt Elementary in 2005 and transferred to Plain City Elementary in 2006 to teach 2nd grade and be closer to home. I strive to create a positive and engaging classroom environment where my students develop a love for learning and build fond memories of their time in second grade.

I have three children and seven grandchildren. In my free time, I enjoy knitting  Christmas socks on my knitting machine, staying active by going to the gym several days a week, riding my bike, taking walks with my Standard Poodle named Doris, and mowing my lawn. I also have a love for chocolate, Milky Ways, cake with lots of frosting, and reading.

Mrs. Mellott loves spending time with her family.

Hello!! I started my teaching career in 2005 and have loved every minute spent in the classroom. Holding both a bachelor’s and master’s degree, I am very passionate about creating an environment where every child feels valued, heard, and supported. Over the years, I have loved building strong, meaningful relationships with students, ensuring they have a safe space where they belong. The joy of seeing children grow, learn and become confident in themselves is the driving force behind my passion for teaching.

I am married and have 3 beautiful children. They definitely keep us busy with mountain biking, soccer, and lacrosse. As a family we enjoy camping, hiking, biking, boating, picnics, and game nights. We love turning the music up and singing and dancing along at any given moment. I love gardening, diet coke, popcorn, and soaking up the sun!

I graduated from Utah State with dual degrees in early childhood and elementary education. I also have a masters degree in language arts from Weber State. I have taught everything from kindergarten to third grade. I spent one year as a reading specialist and two years as a district science fellow. I love to learn and am always taking classes to try something new.

I have four wonderful children and five adorable grandchildren. One of my favorite things to do is to go biking with my family. Some of my favorite rides are the Hiawatha Trail, the Midnight Ride on Antelope Island, Lake Tahoe, and the California Redwoods. But my favorite trip (so far) is the 110 miles of the Mickelson Trail near Mount Rushmore. I highly recommend it to everyone!

I love dark chocolate, licorice, and trying new foods. Something unusual about me is that I do not like frosting and soda pop. My favorite holiday is April Fools, mmw-ha-ha!

I look forward to hatching chicks in my classroom every spring. My classroom is full of books, educational games, laughter, and kindness.

I'm a beach lover who believes in dressing for the weather I want, which means flip flops and sandals all year! I'm married with four kids. My teaching journey began as a substitute in Weber School District, where I spent time in many grade levels. I loved it so much that I went back to school, earning my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education in Spring 2022 and a Master's degree in Spring 2023. I have since spent four wonderful years teaching 2nd grade. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy hunting big game, camping, and fishing with my family. I also tend to a big garden in the summer, growing tomatoes, jalapeños, bell peppers, and pumpkins. I've started canning my own salsa and spaghetti sauces, as well as some fruit jams. My favorite things include sipping on Diet Dr. Pepper and enjoying a slice of pizza.
