Speech-Language Technician

I’m the Speech-Language Technician here at Plain City Elementary! I went to Utah State University (go Aggies!), earning two bachelor's degrees, one in Family, Consumer, and Human Development and a second in Communicative Disorders. Since starting to work in this field, I have loved helping the kids find their voice and feel confident when communicating.

When not at school, I’m usually outside with my animals, either at the farm or up in the mountains—I help my dad run a large sheep operation that keeps life fun, interesting, and busy! We also have many horses and dogs that help us when moving the sheep around. I adore my animals very much, but my favorite by far is the early spring when the new lambs are being born.

I love being part of this amazing school, and am so grateful for the kind welcome I've received while here!

Speech-Language Pathologist

I have been working in the field of speech therapy since 2016, starting as a speech-language technician before earning my master’s degree and becoming a speech-language pathologist in 2022. I attended Utah State University for my bachelors degree, Northern Arizona University for my masters degree, and I am nationally certified by ASHA. I’ve had the privilege of working at Plain City Elementary since 2019, a place that holds a special meaning to me as it’s where I grew up and attended school myself.

I am deeply passionate about the work I do, as I believe communication is the heart of education and that every individual deserves the opportunity to express themselves. I am honored to help my students find their voice, whether it’s through alternative and augmentative communication, language development, social communication, articulation, or stuttering support.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family in Bear Lake, drawing, building Lego, and curling up with a good book. I’m also the proud designer of the Weber School District speech department logo. I have a love for travel and have explored places like London, Paris, Ireland, and Africa. Most recently, I visited Arizona and saw a saguaro cactus for the first time—it’s now my favorite plant! I’ve also recently discovered the joy of golfing, and I’m excited to spend more time on the links.

I'm grateful to be a part of this amazing community and staff and for the opportunity to work with your students. Go Panthers!

As I begin my ninth year as a special education teacher in the beautiful state of Utah, I feel honored to continue serving the incredible students and families of Plain City Elementary—now in my fourth year at this wonderful school. I hold a Master’s degree in Special Education from Southern Utah University, and I am deeply passionate about the work I do each day.

Supporting students who face academic challenges is especially close to my heart, as many of my own loved ones have walked similar paths. This personal connection fuels my dedication to helping every learner develop foundational skills in reading, writing, and mathematics, while also fostering abilities that will empower them throughout their lives. I firmly believe that all students deserve a learning environment that nurtures their growth and celebrates their progress.

Outside of the classroom, I find joy and inspiration in spending time with my family and the great outdoors. Whether I'm kayaking, hiking, gardening, or simply exploring the natural beauty around us, I treasure every opportunity to connect with the world we call home. I am also an avid reader and enjoy engaging in creative pursuits such as crafting and art.

I feel truly grateful to be part of this community and look forward to another meaningful year of learning, growth, and collaboration.
