At Plain City Elementary, our staff members are truly the heart of our school, working every day to make learning exciting, meaningful, and fun for our young Panthers. This week, we are thrilled to feature 3rd-grade teacher Sara Childs as our Panther Staff Spotlight!

Mrs. Childs has been spreading positivity and inspiring young minds at PCES for all four years of her teaching career. A Plain City local, her deep roots in our community shine through in her dedication to her students and her love for our school.

When you step into Mrs. Childs’s 3rd-grade classroom, you will instantly notice a vibrant, welcoming environment filled with engaging lessons and plenty of smiles. Her favorite subjects to teach are math and history, and her motivation as an educator is simple yet profound: "I love kids and watching them learn." Above all, she hopes every child who passes through her classroom leaves with one core takeaway: School is fun! If you ask her what her classroom cannot function without, her answer is simple: laughter.

When asked about her favorite Plain City Elementary tradition, Mrs. Childs pointed to "Lunch with Someone Grand," an event that brings our school community and families together. She also highlights the wonderful community among her colleagues, sharing that the best part about working at PCES is that "the staff is amazing."

Outside of school, Mrs. Childs loves spending time in the mountains or relaxing on the beach. Her favorite hobbies include hiking, walking, organizing, and cheering on her own kids at their various activities.
