Plain City Elementary is bursting with pride to highlight one of our very own legendary educators for this week’s Panther Staff Spotlight: Mrs. Sharon Mumford!
For 22 of her 25 total years in education, Mrs. Mumford has been helping our Plain City Panthers grow, learn, and succeed. Her journey as an educator actually started right in a second-grade classroom just like her own—she was inspired to become a teacher by her own second-grade teacher, Mrs. Darrington, who sparked her lifelong love of learning. Now, Mrs. Mumford passes that exact same gift down to our young Panthers every single day, hoping every student leaves her classroom loving learning and staying curious!
When asked about her favorite subject to teach, Mrs. Mumford couldn't pick just one—she loves them all! One of her absolute favorite traditions at Plain City Elementary is bringing hands-on learning to life by hatching chicks in her classroom every spring. And if you ever step into her room, you'll instantly notice her ultimate essential: books!

When asked what the best part of working at PCE is, Mrs. Mumford shared that she loves spending her days with such fun, kind, and thoughtful teachers and students. We are so lucky to have her guidance, energy, and passion shaping our second graders year after year.
