PLAIN CITY, UT — At Plain City Elementary School, where Panther pride runs deep dedicated educators are the heart of the school community. This week’s Social Media Spotlight shines on 6th-grade teacher Kadee Skeem, a homegrown educator whose deep roots in Plain City and passion for learning make a daily impact on her students.
A proud Plain City local, Skeem has spent all 18 of her years in education right here at Plain City Elementary. Her inspiration to enter the teaching profession traces back to her own childhood experience with her 2nd-grade teacher, Mrs. Vernieuw. Today, Skeem carries that same devotion into her own 6th-grade classroom, where her favorite subject to teach is Math.
Beyond the daily curriculum, Skeem is driven by a core mission for every student who walks through her door: "To always do their best and be their best".
Panther Pride & Tradition
When asked about her favorite Plain City Elementary tradition, Mrs. Skeem didn't hesitate to point to a student-favorite rivalry: the annual 6th-grade kickball game. Her favorite memory? "The teachers always winning the 6th grade kickball game!" she shared with a laugh.
For Mrs. Skeem, the best part of working at PCE comes down to the people. She highlights "the great staff, students, and community" as the driving force behind why Plain City Elementary is such a special place to teach and learn.
Classroom Superpowers & Fun Facts
Every teacher brings unique strengths to the hallway, and Mrs. Skeem describes her ultimate Panther Superpower as being a Master Multi-tasker. Her go-to daily fuel to keep up with the fast pace of 6th grade is a Fountain Goji Citrus Strawberry Mountain Dew, paired with any gummy candy for a quick snack.
Students might be surprised to learn a few off-duty facts about their teacher:
Barn Life: If Skeem were a wild Panther, you wouldn't find her in the jungle, you'd find her hanging out in her barn! When she isn't at school, she loves spending time with her family and animals in the barn.
Travel Preference: She absolutely does not like flying on airplanes.
Local Favorites: Her favorite local spot around Plain City and Weber County isn't a store or restaurant, it's her grandma's house!
Favorites: Orange is her favorite color, and her top pick for movies and shows is the classic sports drama Remember the Titans.
Plain City Elementary is proud to celebrate Kadee Skeem for her 18 years of unwavering dedication to Panther students, high academic standards, and strong community connections. Plain City Elementary just wouldn't be the same without Mrs. Skeem!
