Our 3rd graders in Mrs. Moyes class have been diving into math in a whole new way, learning that time is a continuous measurement! To bring the concept to life, students put their estimation skills to the test with some fun hands-on challenges. They made their best guesses and used stopwatches to discover how many seconds it really takes to complete everyday tasks, like:
🚶♂️ Walking a complete lap around the classroom
✍️ Writing their full name three times
💪Completing 10 pushups

Dear Panther Families and Friends, Halloween is quickly approaching, and we are so excited for our annual Halloween Parade! This is always a beloved tradition here at Plain City Elementary, and we can’t wait to celebrate with our amazing community.
📅 Date: Friday, October 30, 2026
⏰ Time: Parade starts promptly at 9:00 AM
🗺️ Parade Route: Begins on the south side of the playground (car circle side) and continues around the back of the school to the north side field. Look for the path marked off by our awesome PTA! To ensure a safe and fun morning for all of our students from preschool through 6th grade, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
Costume Reminders for Students:
• Arrive at school already dressed in costume.
• Safety First: Full-face masks and weapons (real or simulated) are strictly prohibited.
• Face Paint: Keep it minimal so your student’s face remains recognizable (no full face paint).
• Family-Friendly: Please avoid blood or gore. Keep costumes appropriate for all age groups and avoid culturally insensitive or stereotypical costumes.
• Accessories: Keep handheld props/accessories at home so they don’t get lost during the busy day.
Visitor Reminders:
• All visitors must sign in at the front office before entering the school.
• To protect student privacy, please only take photos of your own child.

Our talented 3rd graders have been diving into abstract art by studying the legendary Wassily Kandinsky. Inspired by his iconic concentric circles and bold geometry, our young artists painted vibrant, colorful backgrounds and then added a special Halloween twist by layering spooky, bare trees in the foreground! 🧙♀️🖌️
These Panthers showed off incredible creativity, brush technique, and seasonal flair with their creations. We love seeing our students express themselves and celebrate the fall season through art!

Working with our Special Education team, Mrs. Davis loves teaching social skills and helping our Panthers navigate their day with confidence. Her true Panther Superpowers? Patience and listening. She makes sure every student knows they are supported, and if there is one thing she hopes each student learns, it’s that they matter and are loved.

Rain didn’t stop our Panthers from bringing the heat on Tuesday! 🐾🌧️⚡️
Our Boosterthon Fun Run was a total splash hit, and we loved seeing our students push through the drizzle with big smiles and unstoppable energy!
A massive shoutout to our incredible parents for braving the weather to line the track and cheer everyone on; your enthusiasm kept our runners going strong from start to finish! 📣💙
An event like this takes a village, and we are so grateful for our amazing PTA and wonderful volunteers who worked tirelessly to make Tuesday run smoothly (pun intended!).
Finally, a HUGE thank you to all of our generous donors! Because of your support, we raised vital funds that go directly back to making Plain City Elementary the best place to learn and grow.

Our Boosterthon Fun Run was a total splash hit, and we loved seeing our students push through the drizzle with big smiles and unstoppable energy!
A massive shoutout to our incredible parents for braving the weather to line the track and cheer everyone on; your enthusiasm kept our runners going strong from start to finish! 📣💙
An event like this takes a village, and we are so grateful for our amazing PTA and wonderful volunteers who worked tirelessly to make Tuesday run smoothly (pun intended!).
Finally, a HUGE thank you to all of our generous donors! Because of your support, we raised vital funds that go directly back to making Plain City Elementary the best place to learn and grow.

No check-outs after 2:15 PM: We want our entire front office staff to join in on the reading fun! Please plan ahead.
Family Reading Time: Families are welcome to join us starting at 2:30 PM! Please sign in at the Bike Gate (do not come inside the main doors). We will be having our read-a-thon outside with the car show to follow.

🐾 Flag Duty with a Special Touch of Honor!
Our Plain City Panther 6th graders hold the special responsibility of raising and lowering our school's flag each day. We were privileged to welcome incredible local veterans to PCE! They spent time teaching our 6th graders the correct way to fold, handle, and respect the American flag.
A huge THANK YOU to these brave military members for their service to our country and for taking the time to mentor our students. We are so proud of our Panthers for stepping up to carry on this tradition with pride! 💙🤍🖤

This week, our art specialist, Mrs. Hibbert, taught our 2nd graders how to bring the season to life by designing unique fall pumpkins using five different art mediums.
Our young artists experimented with combining various tools and textures, learning how different materials can transform a simple autumn idea into a vibrant masterpiece. It is always exciting to see how much technique and personality our students bring to their artwork!
