🦁🎨 First Grade Artists at Work! 🐢🌿

Our amazing first graders got their hands a little messy (and a LOT creative!) as they sculpted their very own clay animals in art class with Mrs. Hibbert! 🐘🦊🐍

But the fun didn’t stop there… they brought their animals to life by designing and building the perfect habitats! From jungles and oceans to deserts and forests, these young artists used their imaginations to create homes where their animals can thrive. 🌊🌴🏜️

We are so proud of their creativity, hard work, and attention to detail. Be sure to ask your student all about their animal and where it lives—you might learn something new! 🧠💬

Our second graders were all smiles as they hopped on the bus for their bowling field trip! 🚌🎳 The excitement started the moment they found their seats and chatted with friends all the way to the alley.

Once the bowling shoes were on, it was game time! There were cheers for every strike, high-fives for every spare, and lots of giggles for the slow-rolling balls that almost made it. The students showed great sportsmanship, encouraged one another, and most importantly—had SO much fun.

Field trips like these make learning and growing together even more special. Way to roll, second grade! 💙🎉

✨ Get to Know Your Fellow WSD Custodians – PRIME EXAMPLE! ✨

Let’s give a huge shoutout to Josh Kohler, Assistant Head Custodian at Plain City Elementary! Josh has faithfully served in this role for eight years, and this week he truly went above and beyond.

With the Head Custodian out Wednesday through Friday—and no interns available—Josh stepped up in a big way. He ran the day shift, covered part of the evening shift, and kept in constant communication with part-time custodians to ensure all night tasks were completed… even when he wasn’t there.

He could have complained. Instead, he chose leadership. He chose teamwork. He chose to do what was right for students and staff. 💙

That kind of dedication does not go unnoticed. Thank you, Josh, for being a PRIME example of service and commitment! 👏

At Plain City Elementary, love filled the air,
Second graders buzzing with glitter everywhere.
Pink and red papers stacked up high,
Hearts and stickers piled to the sky.

Mailboxes covered in sparkle and lace,
Each one showing its owner’s sweet style and grace.
Markers squeaked and scissors snipped,
Glue sticks twisted, valentines clipped.

Giggles popped like candy hearts,
Friends delivering kindness in handmade parts.
“Be mine!” “You’re sweet!” in crayon bright,
Little notes shared pure delight.

Chocolate smudges, frosting smiles,
Joy that stretches down the halls for miles.
At Plain City Elementary, you can clearly see—
Valentine’s Day is friendship, fun, and community. 💕
